Said Benrahma is not injured and was left out of West Ham’s matchday squad as he wasn’t deemed ready to be a part of the matchday 18.
The loan signing from Brentford was spotted at the Community Track outside of London Stadium two hours before kick off going through some fitness drills with first team coach Stuart Pearce.
Benrahma is at London Stadium for the match against Manchester City at lunchtime but he was not included in the 18 and football.london understands that he is not injured, just simply not selected.
The Algerian winger completed his loan move from Brentford last Friday and has been training with his new teammates all week prior to Saturday’s game.
Moyes hinted at his pre-match press conference on Friday that Benrahma might have to bide his time before he was handed his first involvement for the Hammers.
"Said is doing well. He needs to get up to speed with what we want and where we are at so it has given me the opportunity to take a bit more time with him but I have said the same before with the boys from the Championship, I am not in any rush to put them in.
"I like to give them the opportunities at the right time."
Another new signing in Craig Dawson also missed out on the 18 for the second straight game after his loan move from Watford.
Darren Randolph, Andriy Yarmolenko, Manuel Lanzini, Mark Noble, Sebastian Haller, Issa Diop and Ryan Fredericks were named as Moyes’ substitutes as Benrahma had to watch on from the stands.
Moyes named an unchanged side for the third straight game while Pep Guardiola also named the same team for the first time since 2017.
Midfielder Kevin De Bruyne returned to the bench after injury but Aymeric Laporte missed out as Eric Garcia partnered Ruben Dias in defence for City.
West Ham: Fabianski; Coufal, Balbuena, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Masuaku; Rice, Soucek; Bowen, Fornals, Antonio.
