Ricki-Lee Coulter doesn't mind poking fun at the Instagram wellness set

"I wished I loved exercise as much as I love getting drunk and eating everything," Ricki-Lee Coulter joked on Instagram.

We've learnt that Ricki-Lee, who has just been in Newcastle for a cover shoot with fashion magazine Facon, has a cracking sense of humour.

Amid Instagram photos of her showing her booty, looking glamorous and performing onstage, she doesn't mind poking fun at wellness influencers and their never-ending stream of quotes and hashtags about ways to feel good or not so bad.

"Some people just need a high five ... in the face with a chair," she jested.

And this: "I hate it when healthy me does the shopping because now fat me needs some snacks".

Mind you, she doesn't mind jumping aboard the wellness bus, either. This fruit metaphor, though, earns her a free pass: "You can be the ripest juiciest peach in the world and there's still going to be someone who doesn't like peaches".

Many people think Ricki-Lee is a peach of a person. No doubt, most of her 247,000 or so followers on Instagram would be happy to testify to her peach-like qualities.

We're pretty sure Facon editor Lara Lupish thinks Ricki-Lee is a peach.

"Ricki epitomises everything I look for in a Facon cover girl. She is beautiful, incredibly inspiring, uplifting and shines from the inside out," Lara said.

"What you see on stage with Ricki-Lee is a very true reflection of who she is."

For those who don't know, Ricki-Lee hosts the TV show Australia's Got Talent. She's also a singer and songwriter.

She'll be on the cover of the Newcastle-based Facon's summer issue, which will be launched on November 28.

Lara has worked with Ricki-Lee before, most recently styling her for Australia's Got Talent.

"She's a role model and a true example of what a powerful, confident woman can achieve if she believes in herself," Lara said.

The cover shoot is a mix of swimwear and resort-wear, featuring Australian designers.

Lara said the shoot paid homage to Ricki-Lee as "a confident, glamorous, sexy woman who is not afraid of standing out in the crowd".

She said the cover shoot was "all about structured glam".

This summer, swimwear would be about "being confident with your body and embracing it no matter where you are or what you're doing", Lara said.

Ricki-Lee is presently on a national concert tour.

Out of the Box

The 'cubism' housing trend.

Tony, of Merewether, has noticed the "recent trend of 'cubism architecture' in our coastal suburbs".

This, Tony observes, involves traditional pitched-roof cottages being demolished and replaced with "large box-like structures".

He sent us this photo of one such modern structure, which he said brought styrofoam packaging to mind.
