This might be one of the most random things you’ll ever discovered about Leeds Festival and its sister event in Reading.
We’ve said it so many times but it genuinely does feel like music and football go hand-in-hand at the festivals. At Bramham Park we’ve seen Leeds United shirts aplenty while we’ve had tributes to players on stage and there’s even an inflatable football pitch for visitors to enjoy.
We’ll admit, this latest discovery of football’s links to Leeds and Reading is just plain surreal. Some of you might know this already but, for those of you who don’t, take a look back at these old festivals posters and each year you’ll find a name of a Chelsea footballer present - billed to perform.

The conversation initially started on the Football Cliches podcast and stumbled across them. Legend has it that the designer of the festival posters was a Chelsea fan and would sneak a player’s name on each year down the bill.
Below, you’ll find posters featuring Carlo Cudicini, William Gallas, Frank Lampard, Paulo Ferreira, David Luiz and one-time Leeds United favourite Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink amongst others.
