Why Raiders fans should be excited about Johnathan Abram

The Oakland Raiders have selected Mississippi State safety Jonathan Abram with the 27th overall selection in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Abram is an old school safety who brings a ton of intensity to the Raiders defense. He is a downhill thumper who produces big hit after big hit much like how Keanu Neal for the Falcons plays. He also has great athleticism and strength along with being one of the most liked players in the locker room for the team.

For the Raiders, taking the chance on Abram could turn out to be quite beneficial. He is a tone setter on a defense and can establish a wear them down mentality for the entire defense. His chirping, in your face style is infectious and should rub off on the rest of the defense.

He may be a bit of a reach here but what he brings to a defense is hard to teach. Solid selection in the late first.
