The Oakland Raiders have selected Clemson defensive end Clelin Ferrell with the 4th overall selection in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Ferrell is a solid pass rusher with a good floor and high motor. He checks all of the boxes off of the field in terms of character and work ethic while producing well on the field. He may not have great bend or athleticism but he is a great locker room guy who can produce in the NFL. He is very similar to Detroit Lions defensive end Trey Flowers who just got a big contract in free agency.
For the Raiders, taking the chance on White could turn out to be quite beneficial. He may be a bit of a reach this high in the draft but he can be a solid player in their defense. He is a good run defender and a solid pass rusher. For a team who finished last in the NFL in sacks last year, he should vastly improve their pass rush. Again, he is not a high upside player but he is a solid end who should really help them all around on the defense.
