Why Prince Harry may never be able to wear his wedding outfit again after US move

Prince Harry may never be able to wear his wedding outfit again in public after giving up all his military titles.

The iconic uniform dazzled royal fans when he married Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle in 2018.

But the Duke of Sussex's departure from the UK last year means he is no longer allowed to wear official military dress at any public event, the Daily Star reports.

When he and his wife stepped down from official royal duties in March 2020, his honorary titles were also removed.

Harry will, however, still be allowed to wear his military medals, including his Operational Service Medal for service in Afghanistan.

The Prince has already worn medals in America, when he laid a wreath for Remembrance Day in 2020.

Three years ago when we wed Meghan, Hello! magazine claimed the Queen gave special permission for Harry to wear the single-breasted uniform, made of doeskin.

As Captain General of The Royal Marines, the publication says he could have worn a general's outfit, but instead chose to wear a major's uniform.

It was reportedly a move designed to pay tribute to his former regiment.

When Prince William married Kate Middleton ten years ago, Hello! said he "opted for military dress" too.

William wore the vibrant red Irish Guards Mounted Officer’s uniform back in 2011.

It comes after a royal insider has claimed Prince Charles will leave Harry "out in the cold" if he attacks the Queen following his latest comments about his family.

The Prince of Wales reportedly wants a reconciliation with his son but will "close ranks" with Her Majesty should personal criticism be made about her.

The monarch is "deeply upset" after the duke last week claimed that he and Meghan Markle suffered "total neglect" from the royal family, according to the Mail on Sunday.

A royal source said: "I don’t think the Prince will cut his son off despite what Harry has said.

“Charles will want to engage, but it’s fair to say what Harry has said in both interviews with Oprah has been seen as very callous within the family.

"If Harry was to attack the Queen in a more personal way, Charles would close ranks with the Queen without a doubt and Harry would be out in the cold.”
