Why police were outside Victoria Park

Police cars were spotted outside a Bristol park yesterday evening (May 13).

Three Avon and Somerset Constabulary vehicles, including a dog unit, were parked on Hill Avenue by Victoria Park at around 6.30pm.

The force has now confirmed a man was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.

An eye-witness said the door to a nearby property appeared to have been smashed in.

The man, who is 46-years-old, remains in police custody.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a possessing class A drug with intent to supply. He remains in police custody."
