Why police were called to Mansfield Road in Nottingham

Police have revealed why they were called to a busy city centre road in Nottingham.

Officers were called on Friday late afternoon around 3.30pm (October 30) outside the Nottingham Community and Voluntary Skills building on Mansfield Road.

An eye witness who contacted Nottinghamshire Live said there were at least two police cars and part of the road was closed off to help a man.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman confirmed a male was suffering back pains and was being helped by officers at the scene.

An EMAS spokesperson added: "We received a call at 2.51pm on 30 October to Milton Street in Nottingham. The caller reported a medical emergency. We sent a double-crewed ambulance and one patient was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre.”
