Why Philippe Coutinho didn’t train with Barcelona amid Arsenal transfer links

The transfer window is in full swing, and Arsenal are beginning to make their moves.

Mikel Arteta is on the verge of adding a second new face to his squad after the capture of Willian.

The winger joined Arsenal on a free contract after the expiry of his contract at Chelsea, signing a three-year deal at the Emirates Stadium.

He is soon to be joined by Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes, with the Gunners beating off competition from the likes of Manchester United and Napoli.

Mikel Arteta confident Aubameyang will sign again with Arsenal

Arsenal have agreed a fee with his club and the player has undergone a medical ahead of a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Latest reports also suggest that Arsenal are closing in on a move to bring Dani Ceballos back on a season-long loan from Real Madrid.

The Gunners have been linked with a number of new names too, including Thomas Partey, Houssem Aouar and Philippe Coutinho.

The latter is now back at Barcelona after a successful loan spell at Bayern Munich, where he lifted the Champions League.

However, the former Liverpool man was not seen as Barca players returned to training on Monday under new manager Ronald Koeman.

That is because he has been given some extra time off by the club due to his involvement in the Champions League final just a couple of weeks ago.

The Brazilian is expected to instead join up with his teammates in the next few days.

Arsenal are said to be keen on bringing the forward to Arsenal this summer, with reports suggesting that personal terms have been agreed between the club and player.
