Holidaymakers heading to Greece are being issued with some urgent travel advice courtesy of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO).
People travelling to the popular sunshine destination are warned to expect potential delays with additional passport checks now in force for Brits.
With summer fast approaching, and many people starting to look forward to breaks to places such as Crete, Athens or Corfu, the FCO are urging people to arrive at their airport in good time.
From yesterday (7 April) the additional checks will be in place for all EU citizens coming from outside the "Schengen area".
The FCO said in a statement: "As of 7 April, 2019, the Hellenic Police will begin implementing systematic passport control checks for all European citizens travelling to and from destinations outside the Schengen area (including the UK) in line with a 2017 Schengen Borders Code regulation.
"Increased waiting times at passport control are possible on departure from and arrival into Greece. You should ensure you arrive at the airport in good time."
