Paul Pogba was part of the France team that didn't want a Wales player to be sent off during Wednesday night's friendly in Nice.
The Manchester United star made Didier Deschamps' starting XI for the game, which was the first warm-up fixture ahead of this summer's European Championship, but the game was marred by a controversial incident.
Liverpool's and Wales' Neco Williams was shown a red card in the first half after a lengthy VAR check decided the defender had handled the ball from Karim Benzema's goalbound effort, but the decision was unanimously appealed by both sides on the pitch.
Pogba and his France teammates urged Portuguese referee Luis Godinho not to dismiss Williams, but their efforts were in vain.
"We all asked the referee not to send the Welsh player off," France captain Hugo Lloris explained after the game. "We wanted the match to finish as 11 vs 11."
Wales interim manager Robert Page confirmed they are considering appealing the decision to dismiss Williams: "I thought it was harsh to give a penalty in the first place but to send him off was a bitter blow. We'll have a look at it (appealing)."
The game ended 3-0 to France.
