The Green Bay Packers have selected Michigan defensive lineman Rashan Gary with the 12th overall selection in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Rashan Gary is a solid pick for the Packers. He flashes elite ability on film and can be one of the top players in the NFL with his raw ability. He is a freak athlete with great acceleration with versatility across the line. He may not have the production in college but with NFL coaching he could be very good in the league.
For the Packers, taking the chance on Gary could turn out to be quite beneficial. He is a special player who has the upside to be great. Luckily for them, he doesn’t need to provide a huge instant impact.
With players like Kenny Clark, Preston Smith, and Zadarius Smith up front, Gary can play more of a sub role and learn how to be a dominant NFL player. Long term though, this could be a great pick for the Packers.
