Newcastle United's celebrations after Allan Saint-Maximin's winner surprised Oxford United manager Karl Robinson - who believes the Magpies showed his side the 'ultimate respect'.
Steve Bruce's side raced into a 2-0 lead in their FA Cup fourth-round replay following goals from Sean Longstaff and Joelinton but late strikes from Liam Kelly and Nathan Holland took the game to extra time.
The tie looked like it was heading for penalties before Saint-Maximin stepped up with a moment of magic in the 116th minute.
While Robinson thought his side 'outplayed' Newcastle, and believed you 'could not tell' which team was the League One side, he took solace in how far Oxford had pushed the visitors. But thoughts now turn towards lifting his players ahead of a huge clash against Darren Ferguson's Peterborough United on Saturday.
"I said if Darren is watching this, I'm sure he will be over the moon because if the roles were reversed, I would be extremely happy," Robinson told reporters after the game.
"But, unfortunately, we went there, we pushed them in the first half of extra time. We had an absolute sitter, which Dan missed, and then the game petered out a little bit.
"Their sub [Saint-Maximin] had that little moment. It's funny the three chances he had before that, he fluffed and that one he comes inside and hits it like a rocket. You have got to take your hat off.
"What was surprising was their celebration. Every sub, everyone, was on the pitch and that just shows you how far we pushed them. That is the ultimate respect. I don't mind that because it shows you how much that meant to them."
