Why one bookstore is holding a ‘wedding marathon’

All She Wrote Books in Somerville, Massachusetts, is hosting an LGBTQ wedding marathon on 30 August.
The event, titled 'Love Can't Wait Another Day', aims to allow couples to marry quickly amid concerns over the future of same-sex marriage rights.
This initiative comes as the US Supreme Court considers whether to hear a petition from Kim Davis, a former Kentucky county clerk, to overturn the 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges decision.
The bookshop is offering various packages for the marathon, including a Justice of the Peace, professional photos, and guidance on legal documents should marriage equality be overturned.
The LGBTQ+ community remains anxious about their rights, particularly following recent Supreme Court decisions on reproductive rights and affirmative action.
