Why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will not entertain Gareth Bale to Man Utd transfer

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will not entertain the possibility of a big-money summer move for Gareth Bale.

Bale looks set to leave Real Madrid after Zinedine Zidane confirmed Los Blancos were actively trying to sell the Welshman.

His wages are a problem, with former Spurs forward Bale currently trousering £600,000-a-week, but he does have two offers on the table from China which could see that rise by another £400,000.

United have been consistently linked with a move for Bale over the last couple of years, but Solskjaer will not pursue a move for the flier, according to the Standard.

The Norwegian is determined to make his side younger as he bids to return United to Europe's top table in 2019-20.

And that means he will not sign any player over the age of 30.

Bale was not in Real's squad for their friendly against Bayern Munich, but Zidane hinted at a shock U-turn - suggesting he could be involved when Los Blancos face Arsenal .

Zidane has sensationally accused Bale of refusing to play against Bayern due to Real trying to negotiate his exit.

"I have not disrespected anyone and much less a player (Bale)," Zidane said. "The club is dealing with his departure. Period.

"The other day Gareth didn't play because he didn't want to. He said the club was trying to negotiate his departure he and didn't want to play because of that.

"So far, Bale hasn't asked not to play tomorrow.

“Bale's situation is known by everyone and will not change. The club is going to do what they have to do with him.

“I have to respect the players. Bale is with us and will do the same as the others."
