Gabriel Jesus team talk

Mikel Arteta named Martin Odegaard as the club captain, but the Norwegian did not take the pre-match team talk. Instead, Gabriel Jesus was pictured speaking to the team. He, alongside Granit Xhaka, were given further leadership roles by the manager.

Clearly, Jesus has the weight in the dressing room already to lead these pre-match speeches and for good reason. His start to the season has been nothing short of brilliant.

The Portuguese clique

Arsenal are known for their Gabriel contingent within the squad however this grows further when you consider the Portuguese-speaking players in the group. Ahead of the kick-off Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Fabio Vieira, Cedric Soares and Marquinhos were all involved in a small passing exercise.

There are relationships growing in this group and Mikel Arteta has been keen to develop a family feel about the club. Not only that, but with two of the aforementioned five, it allows for quicker integration for them having joined in the summer.

Karl Hein trains alongside Aaron Ramsdale and Matt Turner

Mikel Arteta has been a big fan of giving the matchday experience to young players and the trip to Old Trafford was no different. As Aaron Ramsdale and Matt Turner were clapped out onto the pitch they were joined by Karl Hein.

The Estonian international spent time with Reading on loan but was unfortunately injured. He is appreciated as a great talent in the squad and these experiences will be hugely beneficial to his development.
