Notts woman Lauren Chappell tried to make a point when she listed an Asda pizza for £80 on online selling site Depop.
The 29-year-old, from Stapleford, posted that she was selling the meatball marinara pizza for a friend who had bought it from the supermarket for £3.50 but wanted to get rid of it because they they preferred Chicago Town pizza from Tesco.
But the joke from five years ago came back to haunt Lauren this week when she suddenly began receiving a flood of messages from 'potential buyers' after a stranger shared her post on Twitter.
Lauren, who wrote that the pizza, was the "last one" on sale in 2015, was inundated with responses when her original post resurfaced asking if it was still available, whether she'd £75 for it and if the flavour had matured over time.
Lauren, who is hoping to become a personal trainer, said: "At that time in 2015 people were getting very frustrated with sellers overpricing things on Depop, especially make-up. I was being sarcastic and everyone got the joke.
"It faded away because it was years ago so I was confused when I was getting message after message.
"I did a Google search and couldn't believe how many shares and likes it's got," added Lauren, who still uses Depop to sell clothes, make-up and music.
The post has had 16,000 likes and has been retweeted 1,200 times.
As for the pizza, she ended up eating it soon after listing it for sale. But it's not something Lauren, the niece of Stapleford councillor Richard MacRae, said she'd buy today since she's been vegan for the last four years.
