Why Nottingham Forest's arch rivals could soon be an even bigger threat

Nottingham Forest’s rivals Derby County could be set for new investment.

Derby are reportedly in advanced talks with Henry Gabay, the co-founder and chairman of Duet Group, over an investment partnership and a deal could be completed by the end of this month.

At the other end of Brian Clough Way, Mel Morris has made no secret of his desire to land additional finance for the club.

Our sister title Derbyshire Live previously reported how progress was being made and that a deal could be done before the end of the year.

It now looks like Forest’s rivals could be about to do just that.

New companies, Rams Investment Limited and Rams Sports Management Limited, have been established and posted on Companies House in recent weeks.

Both companies are controlled by Gabay, who is the co-founder and chief executive officer of the Duet Group, a global investment holding company containing private equity, wealth management and other investment companies.

Forest have already beaten Derby twice this season, once in the League and once in the Carabao Cup, and sit seven points and 10 places above their rivals.
