Nottingham Forest are beating some Premier League clubs in this table - and fans will love it

Nottingham Forest are one of four Football League clubs whose average attendances are higher than some teams in the Premier League.

Thanks to some bumper crowds, an average of 27,782 people have attended Forest’s home league games so far this season, according to worldfootball.net.

That’s the 18th highest average in the top four divisions of English football.

It puts the Reds ahead of top-flight sides such as Norwich City (27,043), Crystal Palace (25,250) and Watford (20,613).

Joining Forest in the “Premier Attendance League” are fellow Football League sides Leeds (34,956), Sunderland (30,279) and Derby (26,979) who have the 11th, 16th and 20th highest average attendances in the country respectively.

Forest are also one of just four EFL sides who are filling their stadium to over 90 percent of capacity.

The 27,782 average at the City Ground this season works out as 90.8 percent of the stadium’s capacity.

Luton Town (97.1%), Leeds United (92.3%) and AFC Wimbledon (90.3) are the only other sides in the lower leagues filling their stadiums to a similar level.
