Why Neymar plans to snub Real Madrid transfer to stay at PSG

Neymar has been the subject of plenty of transfer speculation amid reports he is a top target for Real Madrid .

Spanish newspaper Marca have claimed the Brazilian has demanded huge wages of £1.2million per week to move to the Bernabeu which will price him out of a move.

It therefore appears he is set to stay with Paris Saint-Germain - and French outlet Telefoot says it is because he has unfinished business.

They say the player is determined to put his injury troubles behind him and showcase his full potential in the French capital - especially in the Champions League.

He has been ruled out for parts of their last 16 games for two straight years as they have failed to meet expectations.

Having been brought in to lead their quest for European glory, Neymar now wants to stay and deliver in key matches having not had the opportunity to do so at this stage.

With no release clause in his contract and a deal until 2022, Neymar would likely cost around €400m, making a transfer extremely difficult.

Yet Real Madrid reportedly have room in their wage budget to accommodate a superstar salary with Neymar and Paris Saint-Germain team-mate Kylian Mbappe linked.

Los Blancos experienced one of their worst ever seasons and are now eyeing a significant summer spending spree to rebuild.

Paul Pogba, Eden Hazard and Christian Eriksen have all been heavily linked but a central striker to finally replace Cristiano Ronaldo's goals is known to be a top priority.

However, Neymar's reported desire to stay at PSG to achieve what he set out to could mean Real Madrid have to turn their attentions elsewhere.
