The New York Jets have selected Alabama defensive tackle Quinnen Williams with the 3rd overall selection in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Was there a more dominant player in recent memory than Williams last year at Alabama? He is an absolute force on the interior and dominated each and every game last season. His athleticism, strength, and overall polish makes him an elite prospect in this class. He is simply unreal and is a homerun pick in this class. For the Jets, taking the chance on Williams could turn out to be quite beneficial. He is an elite talent who can drastically improve the team’s pass rush. The team already added CJ Mosley through free agency and now adding Williams should help that side of the ball make a huge jump in 2019. Pairing him with former top ten pick in Leonard Williams on the interior of that defensive line should cause havoc for opposing offenses.
For a team that has to face Tom Brady and the Patriots twice a year, this is an excellent pick.
