Why Neil Warnock was right all along about Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp

Neil Warnock has been called a lot of things by Liverpool supporters over the years.

Clairvoyant, though, probably isn't among them.

Yet the Cardiff City manager should be saluted for having the foresight to correctly call how the main honours would be divided this season.

Back in October, Liverpool had beaten Warnock's side 4-1 at Anfield to maintain their strong start to the Premier League campaign.

And Warnock, a known admirer of Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, was asked whether the Reds could prevent Manchester City from winning a second successive title.

"I think they have more chance of winning the Champions League, if I'm honest, with the forwards they've got," he said.

"I think City will be a little bit too strong for them in the league.

"But I do feel as though this might be their year in the Champions League."

Sure enough, City won the title by a point despite Liverpool finishing with a club record 97 points.

And Liverpool emerged triumphant in the Champions League final against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday to lift a sixth European Cup.
