Why Miguel Almiron's goal was a landmark for Newcastle United

Newcastle United netted their 1,300th goal in the Premier League against West Bromwich Albion at St James' Park.

The landmark moment arrived after just 20 seconds with Miguel Almiron finding the net in the top-flight encounter against the Baggies. It was their second quickest goal in the Premier League.

Since the Premier League kicked off Newcastle have turned on the style in front of goal but they have somewhat limped to this particular target this term as one of the lowest scorers in the top division.

Only Arsenal and Fulham plus the bottom three grabbing fewer goals.

Yet another historic landmark was ticked off today.
