Why Meghan Markle told pals she 'feels sorry' for Duchess of Cambridge

Baby Sussex has made his debut, and it's been to a lot less fanfare than his royal cousins.

Firstly, the tot is seventh in line to throne. Secondly, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle battened down the hatches and did things their way.

Apparently, no matter how polished and smiley Kate looked on the steps of the Lindo Wing, it wasn't enough to convince Meghan.

A friend of the former Suits actor reportedly told the  New York Post that Meghan in fact "felt sorry" for Kate having to put on heels, tights a nice dress, get her hair and makeup done, and face photographers so soon after the arrival of each of her babies.

Royal fans have been dismayed by Meghan and Harry's decision to wait before revealing their bundle to the world.

However, the hospital steps photocall is a pretty recent tradition - one which Princess Anne kickstarted in 1977, and one which no royal mum is obliged to follow.
