Why Maurizio Sarri stormed off during Chelsea training before Europa League final

Maurizio Sarri stormed down the tunnel at Baku's Olympic Stadium following a disagreement between teammates David Luiz and Gonzalo Higuain in Chelsea's final training session before Wednesday's Europa League final against Premier League rivals Arsenal .

The Italian boss took off his cap and threw it to the ground as he walked past assistant Marco Ianni when leaving the pitch, with Sarri then kicking the cap as he continued to storm off down the tunnel.

It isn't yet clear what provoked the row between Luiz and Higuain, although the South American pair could be seen in close proximity to each other throughout the Blues' open training session, which was conducted in front of the watching media in Baku.

Footage of the pair coming together could be seen on BT Sport's coverage of Chelsea training on Facebook , with Luiz seemingly unhappy after Higuain left his foot in during a challenge.

The pair then exchange words, with Luiz seemingly less than impressed with his teammate, forcing club stalwart Cesar Azpilicueta to come across and intervene.

Plenty see the final as potentially being Sarri's final game in charge of the Blues, with suggestions that he could leave for a return to Italy this summer.

On Tuesday Sarri admitted that he has been considering his future.

“At this moment, I love my players, because I have 22 wonderful men, wonderful players," he said.

“Now I'm very happy with them. And, of course, I have to consider that for the future. And I have to consider that I love English football, I love the Premier League.”

Sarri added: “I want to think only about the final. I have a contract with Chelsea for two years. So, first of all, I will speak with Chelsea. But this is not the moment. Now we have to think only about the final. Because you know very well, our feeling is that we deserve to win.”
