Kieran Tierney and Martin Odegaard are both absent from the Arsenal squad for their Europa League round of 16 first-leg clash with Sporting CP due to illness football.london understands.
The Scottish international did not train at London Colney on Wednesday and did not travel with the group to Portugal. Odegaard meanwhile did train and travel, but he has been deemed unwell to play. Both are understood to be precautionary absences and not serious.
An illness bug has passed through the Arsenal camp with Fabio Vieira having to be replaced by Gabriel Martinelli for press conference duties on Wednesday due to a sore throat.

Arsenal are also without Leandro Trossard due to a groin problem for the first-leg match with Sporting Lisbon. Mohamed Elneny is also out as a long-term absence with a knee injury.
Gabriel Jesus meanwhile did not travel with the group to Lisbon despite having trained with the first-team squad at London Colney on Wednesday. Youngsters Mauro Bandeira, James Hillson, Charles Sagoe Jr, Matt Smith and Reuell Walters have all been called up to complete the squad for the match at Estadio Jose Alvalade.
