Why Marc Cucurella’s goal for Spain against Austria was disallowed

  • Marc Cucurella saw his goal disallowed during Spain ’s World Cup last-32 clash with Austria .
  • The left-back scored from close range in the 29th minute after the ball fell to him from a Lamine Yamal corner, but the goal was instantly ruled out by Swedish referee Glenn Nyberg. A VAR check confirmed referee’s decision.
