There was plenty to discuss on Sunday afternoon in the hours leading up to Tottenham's game against Sheffield United following a mass protest at Manchester United.
Manchester United were meant to take on Liverpool a few hours before the final game of the day involving Spurs and the Blades got underway, but the 4.30pm kick-off was delayed after home fans managed to get into the stadium and onto the pitch at Old Trafford to demonstrate against the ownership of the club.
Finally managing to clear the pitch and stadium ahead of kick-off, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team remained at the Lowry Hotel waiting to get the green light to begin their journey to the Theatre of Dreams.
However, a little over an hour after the game was due to start it was finally confirmed that the match had been postponed.
Now making it difficult to find a new date suitable for both sides to play the game due to United's European commitments and some midweek games coming up in the final few weeks of the season, it also means that Manchester City have to wait a bit longer to be crowned Premier League champions.
Needing the Reds to secure an away win at Old Trafford in order to clinch a third title in four seasons, it will now be Saturday at the earliest when City can secure the league title after such an impressive past few months from the club.
Pep Guardiola's team are due to take on Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening in a mouthwatering game and they now know it is down to the team to clinch the title on home soil.
That in turn helps Ryan Mason and his Tottenham side out as they look to spring a surprise and clinch a Champions League place for 2021/22 despite currently trailing Chelsea in fourth by five points.
Given that Spurs are reliant on their London rivals dropping points between now and the final day, City could have gone into Saturday's game with no pressure on their shoulders safe in the knowledge that the title was already in the bag if Liverpool had beaten Manchester United.
However, now it is in City's hands following the postponement and the players would no doubt prefer to clinch the league themselves with a victory at home rather than having their success confirmed for them by another team.
Spurs are in action earlier in the day on Saturday and they can pile the pressure on Chelsea ahead of kick-off by closing to within two points of them, providing that they win their game against Leeds United at Elland Road.
As both City and Chelsea go into this weekend's showdown on the back of a Champions League semi-final, it really could be a pivotal day at the top of the league.
The postponement of the game at Old Trafford can also help out Tottenham in their European quest as it now means that the Premier League have to find a new date in the calendar for the fixture to suit United and Liverpool.
However, it is not so straightforward in selecting a new date as the Red Devils have midweek league and European fixtures in each of the next three weeks.
Liverpool are currently two points behind Spurs with a game in hand following the postponement and a new date for the match in the final two weeks of the season could make things tricky for them regarding their top four aspirations.
Still in with a shout of Europe's premier competition despite such a bad start to 2021, Tottenham need Leicester and Chelsea to drop points in their final four league games to blow the race wide open as they look to make a swift return to the Champions League after a year away.
