Mason Greenwood could well stand to gain the most out of the Premier League's decision to allow clubs to make up to five substitutions when the season resumes later this month.
The Manchester United starlet has so far made the most appearances from the bench out of anyone in the Premier League this season, according to data from TransferMarkt.
On the face of it, that means not much may change for Greenwood, who is already regularly appearing off the bench for United.
Yet the 18-year-old could well be in line for more game time, as more the allowance of more substitutes, combined with a long break from competitive football, may well persuade manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to make changes earlier.
If that happens, Greenwood could well be called upon earlier in games than he is already.
However, the attacker will now have to face more competition for game time as the likes of Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford make their returns from injury.
There will also be the issue of extra players to contend with after the Premier League also raised the maximum amount of players allowed on the bench to nine.
Elsewhere on the list, Everton's Mosie Kean and Liverpool forward Divock Origi have made the next highest number of sub appearances with 17 each.
Jay Rodriguez has made 16 sub appearances, while Michy Batshuayi has made 15.
Norwich’s Josip Drmic is one of three players to have made 14 sub appearances, the other being Pedro Neto and Che Adams.
Unlike the latter two though, all of Drmicis’ appearances this season have been from the bench.
