Why Manchester United have made five changes to team vs Real Sociedad

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has opted for speed in attack against Real Sociedad as he tells his Manchester United side to go hunting for away goals.

United face the La Liga side on neutral territory in Turin due to travel restrictions into Spain, but this counts as Real Sociedad's home leg in the last-32 tie.

Solskjaer believes getting away goals is possible at the home of Juventus and having made five changes to the side that drew with West Brom at the weekend, his desire is for his side to attack with pace.

Dean Henderson, Eric Bailly, Alex Telles, Daniel James and Mason Greenwood are all in the side, while there is room among the 12 substitutes for teenagers Amad and Shola Shoretire, who could make their debuts.

“We’re away in Europe so the message has been it's worth going for goals, it's a neutral venue but we have to take the advantage and attack quickly," Solskjaer told MUTV ahead of the tie. "I expect fresh legs, a mentality to keep them away from our goal as we know we have to defend well."

The selections in attack focus on pace, with James making his first start since January 9 and the FA Cup third-round win against Watford.

“That’s part of what we are as a club, Dan, Marcus and Mason with Bruno behind, hopefully we can get them good service and attack quickly," said Solskjaer.

United beat Juventus in this stadium just over a month before Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho, with the Norwegian's experiences for United in Turin coming at the old Stadio delle Alpi.

“Some good memories here and some bad ones. It's a great city, a fantastic stadium and it’s set out for a good day," he added.
