Why Manchester United fans loved Mason Greenwood's goal vs LASK so much

Manchester United fans were delighted to see Tahith Chong mark his new contract with a fine assist for Mason Greenwood in the Europa League hammering of LASK.

United were in control throughout the last-16 first leg tie in Austria, but only got the reward in the late on with a flurry of goals from Daniel James, Juan Mata, Greenwood and Andreas Pereira adding to Odion Ighalo's first half opener.

While there was reason to be pleased about each of the five away goals United scored, fans were particularly pleased to see Greenwood race clear onto Chong's pinpoint through-ball to fire home at the near post.

Chong recently committed his future to United after long contract negotiations, and he can now focus on earning more game time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

And fans felt his assist for fellow academy graduate Greenwood was reason to be positive about the futures of both players in the first team.

United now take a healthy five-goal lead into the second leg, with five away goals meaning LASK must put six past United at Old Trafford next week to stand any chance of progressing.
