Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is determined to succeed in his pursuit of right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka despite having a £40m bid rejected by Crystal Palace .
Solskjaer is a huge fan of the England U21 international and has earmarked him as one of his top transfer targets this summer.
Palace are expected to hold out for a fee approaching £60m, and Solskjaer is likely to encourage the board to stump up the money because he is such an admirer of the player.
He is of the opinion that Wan-Bissaka's stock is only likely to rise even more next season, and thus the club cannot wait any longer if they wish to buy him at a relatively affordable price.
Solskjaer is also interested in Thomas Meunier of Paris Saint-Germain, but he is likely to be hugely disappointed if Wan-Bissaka is not his first-choice right-back come next season.
After progressing through their youth team, Wan-Bissaka made his senior debut for the Eagles in February 2018, and since then has become a permanent fixture in the Palace first-team.
He made 35 appearances in the Premier League this season and won Palace's Player of the Month award in August, September, October and March.
As well as Wan-Bissaka, Solskjaer is also still keen on a move for Leicester's Harry Maguire. However, with the club valuing him at £90m United are likely to miss out on the player, who is also thought to favour a move to their bitter rivals Manchester City .
Sorting out United's backline is Solskjaer's number one priority this summer, after his side conceded a total of 53 goals in the Premier League last season, more than the likes of Palace, Newcastle United and Leicester .
It is set to be a hectic summer at Old Trafford, with a big number of both incoming and outgoing transfers at the club.
