Man City star Riyad Mahrez now has his own Twitter emoji as he is one of the three nominees in the running to be crowned African Footballer of the Year.
Mahrez enjoyed a fantastic 2019 in which he was a key member of the City team that made history by becoming the first English men's side to win a domestic treble.
The winger scored 11 goals and made 16 assists in his 41 appearances throughout the year and continued to improve as he adapted to Pep Guardiola's demanding style of football.
More silverware would come in the summer for Mahrez when the Algerian captain led his side to Africa Cup of Nations glory and was instrumental in their achievement.
Mahrez played in every game of the competition and scored three times, his most important goal being the dramatic, last gasp free-kick in the semi-final against Nigeria which sent the Desert Foxes into the final.
His incredible trophy haul and contributions to the victories for both club and country have put Mahrez in contention for Player of the Year.
The 28-year-old is up against Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane for the prestigious accolade, both of whom scored more goals than him during the year and won the Champions League.
To celebrate the award ceremony, which will take place on Tuesday, January 7 in Hurghada, Egypt, special emojis of the three nominees have been created for Twitter.
To use the emoji you simply have to write '#RiyadMahrez' in a tweet and a small picture of his face will appear next to the words.
