Why Love Island bosses won't show sex this year even if couples get frisky

Winter Love Island might be heating up, but viewers might not witness some of the contestants' raunchier antics.

Voiceover man Iain Stirling, who has been with the show since it began in 2015, has confirmed that scenes of a sexual nature will not be aired this year.

As past viewers will know, the night time cameras are notorious for catching some under the duvet action in the Hideaway and the communal bedroom as contestants take their relationships to the next level.

Speaking to Vice about this year's couples, Iain admitted: "I think there might be a bit less s******g on TV this year, because they know it'll be on television. But I actually think there might well be s******g, They're beautiful young people in a luxury villa – there probably will be some s******g."

He went on: "Sometimes it's important for the narrative, but you can tell that story through the conversations afterwards. It's not a moral question – if anything, that's less of an issue now, because people coming on are so aware of what happens with the footage from the villa.

"What I don't know is if we'll show it. It's done now – people have shagged on TV. We broadcasted it before because it was an interesting thing to show and deal with. Now, having sex on telly? It's done."

During last night's episode, viewers raised eyebrows after Sophie and Connor were caught making a private den in the living room late at night.

The pair were seen having a fumble under the duvet, with only their feet visible at the bottom.

"What’s Sophie and Connor doing in bed then?" one fan of the show asked on Twitter.

Rebecca and Connagh were also seen getting very passionate in last night's show as they succumbed to a steamy snog.

Connagh took Rebecca aside for a chat he coyly told her, "I didn't think you'd be that interested in me."

"You literally tick every box for me," the Geordie beauty replied

"I think you're proper fit. I would like to get to know you better," added Connagh with a cheeky grin.

Rebecca appeared to like what she heard as she lunged at Connaugh on the day bed and planted a huge snog on him.
