Why Loose Women is not being shown on ITV on Thursday

Popular ITV daytime show Loose Women has been cancelled today, Thursday, thanks to football.

The chat show will be replaced with coverage of Euro 2020, following Wednesday's show being cut short by 30 minutes thanks to horse racing.

Host Ruth Langsford confirmed the news on Wednesday saying: "Short and sweet today because of the racing. And we’re not here tomorrow either, because of the football."

The daily panel series will return to its regular slot on Friday.

ITV will show Ukraine v North Macedonia, which will kick-off at 2pm, broadcast live from the National Arena in Bucharest.

Loose Women is one of many shows that are being moved around the schedule thanks to the football tournament, which will run for the next three weeks, reports The Mirror.

Coronation Street, EastEnders and Emmerdale are being made available on demand ahead of their usual airing times because of the disruption.

Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV.
