Why Liverpool's Premier League game at Manchester United has been moved again

Liverpool's Premier League trip to Manchester United in October has been switched - and it's all because of Manchester City.

The Reds will now travel to Old Trafford to take on their bitter North West rivals on Sunday, October 20 with a kick-off of 4.30pm. It will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

The European champions had initially been slated to play the Europa League qualifiers on Saturday, October 19 at 5.30pm.

But the game has switched places with City's trip to Crystal Palace because the Champions League group schedule sees Pep Guardiola's side entertain Italian side Atalanta on Tuesday, October 22 (8pm).

Liverpool's Champions League game that week is at Genk on the Wednesday.

And Jurgen Klopp will be happier as the change gives him an extra day to prepare with his full squad after the October international break that immediately precedes the United clash.

Liverpool have also confirmed their League Cup third round tie at MK Dons will take place on Wednesday, September 25 with a 7.45pm kick-off. It will also be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
