A number of Premier League matches are set to be played at neutral venues when the 2019/20 campaign resumes next month - but Leeds United could also be affected by this.
An announcement is expected imminently confirming the widely-reported June 17 return date for the top-flight of English football, which will return with Manchester City vs Arsenal and Sheffield United vs Aston Villa - two fixtures that were originally rescheduled due to the Carabao Cup final.
A previous proposal for all the remaining 92 matches to be played behind closed doors was widely opposed by clubs but The Times reports that a number of matches could still be played in this format.
Authorities are concerned that supporters may congregate outside stadiums during ‘key matches’
The report specifically mentions Liverpool’s remaining matches at Anfield and London derbies.
But certain games across the Championship deemed to be high risk could also be played at neutral venues, according to the report's author Martyn Ziegler, with any decisions over whether this happens or not taken by clubs, safety advisory groups in the area and police.
And the likes of Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion - the two sides at the top of the division - are the clubs which are most likely to be affected by this, if it comes to pass.
Liverpool are 25 points clear at the top of the table and are just a few wins shy of securing a first league title in 30 years, which in normal circumstances would lead to celebrations across the city.
Similarly, the Whites are nearing closer and closer to a return to the top flight for the first time since suffering relegation in 2004, and there too would be celebrations in the city marking the occasion in normal circumstances.
However, such gatherings would be dangerous during the coronavirus crisis and the authorities seem concerned enough to take specific action to reduce the likelihood of these situations occurring.
Leeds have home games against Fulham, Luton Town, Stoke City, Barnsley and Charlton Athletic still to play at Elland Road.
Liverpool have four remaining home matches in their schedule, while there are a number of London derbies still to be played - including Tottenham vs West Ham, West Ham vs Chelsea and Tottenham vs Arsenal.
