Chelsea and Reading were left to wait for kick-off in their pre-season friendly at the Madejski Stadium this afternoon (Sunday) due to logisitical issues outside the ground.
The game had been due to kick-off at 3pm in Reading but was mysteriously delayed with no explanation immediately given to those inside the ground.
Shortly after Chelsea explained that the delay was due to 'congestion on the roads in the vicinity and around the stadium.'
However, that did not cover the extent of the problem outside the ground or just how much of an impact it was having on the fans who had travelled to see Chelsea's only pre-season friendly in England this summer.
Queues of fans remained waiting outside the stadium for the opportunity to get in with reports that only one machine at the Madejski Stadium was working to print tickets.
Even that delay did not seem like enough to some fans outside the ground with one fan, George Benson, taking to twitter to claim that they queue had not moved 15 feet in the previous 15 mintues.
Despite the possibility of continuing queues outside the ground the game did kick-off at 3.15pm.

The Blues beat Barcelona in their last friendly out in Japan, with goals coming from Tammy Abraham and Ross Barkley, but it has been an up and down pre-season.
