Why Kevin De Bruyne has overtaken Mesut Ozil as one of the Premier League's best creators

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is known as one of the most dangerous players in the Premier League.

The Belgian has already registered an involvement in nine goals in his six league appearances so far this season, scoring two and assisting seven.

De Bruyne was heavily involved in the Champions' massive 8-0 win against Watford on Saturday, a result which equalled the club's record scoreline and was just one short of the biggest Premier League win. He assisted two and scored one of the eight Manchester City goals.

After a injury hit season during 2018/19, De Bruyne is now proving his worth for Pep Guardiola as the club attempt to win their third Premier League title in a row.

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has been known as one of the best assist makers in recent Premier League history. The league high 19 assists he made during the 2015/16 season has not been reached since.

However, in providing two assists in the win over Watford, De Bruyne overtook the German in the total number of assists provided.

De Bruyne now has a total of 53 assists in the Premier League, one more than Ozil's 52. However, the Arsenal midfielder has played 41 less games than the Manchester City man, with Ozil playing 167 compared to the 126 that De Bruyne has featured in.

Ozil has made just one Premier League appearance so far this season, but he will be hoping to overtake De Bruyne by creating lots of goal scoring opportunities for his teammates in the coming weeks.
