Why Jose Mourinho will not discuss his Manchester United exit as Sky Sports pundit

Jose Mourinho will be involved in the Premier League again this season - but probably not in the way that people may have expected.

The former Chelsea and Manchester United manager has joined broadcaster Sky Sports as part of their team that covers the Premier League week in week out.

Mourinho will join a team of pundits already consisting of Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Graeme Souness and Jamie Redknapp. The Portuguese manager will make his debut on the channel during the coverage of the meeting between his two former clubs, as Chelsea travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United on Sunday.

Upon the announcement of his appointment Mourinho spoke of his love for the Premier League: "The Premier League is a special competition for me, one that takes so much hard work to win and you just can't take your eyes off the matches every week," he told Sky Sports.

However, there will be one thing that the 56-year-old won't be able to discuss when appearing on the coverage.

According to the Times , a confidentiality clause was included in the £15m severance package that was given to Mourinho when he departed Manchester United last season, with the club making it clear that they expect their former manager to stick by the agreement, which will stop him talking about the circumstances around his departure from Old Trafford.

The manager has previously appeared on BeIN coverage, but the announcement of him joining Sky Sports, at least until he finds a new club, as caused excitement among fans, with Mourinho not usually shy in making his opinions known.
