Why isn't I'm A Celebrity live tonight? Fans fuming at Saturday night recap show

The first week of I'm A Celebrity has got off to a rip-roaring start with new friendships formed in Gwrych Castle in north Wales.

Over the past six days fans have been gripped as 12 celebs adjust to life in a stunning historic castle with plenty of gruesome challenges to keep them on their toes.

But as viewers tuned in on Saturday night they expressed their disappointment.

Instead of new scenes from the camp, they realised they were watching re-runs of the action over the past six days.

ITV has explained that Saturdays are the best of the week episodes, with unseen footage and new links, but viewers aren't happy.

"The entire UK tuning in to #imacelebrity only to realise it’s a recap of the first week," said one.

"Apparently every Saturday show is going to be a recap episode for the week no thank you. I want a proper show every night," huffed another.

"First time in all the series I've switched over, really don’t need to see replays of what I’ve seen all week," said another as they reached for the remote.

"But seriously... since when did #ImACeleb do recap shows during prime time Saturday night TV?" asked another viewer.

"Was there really nothing good happen yesterday that all we get is a re-cap/highlights show tonight?" asked another.

Another asked: "You know we've already all watched this right?"

And another fumed: "What is this rubbish? I’ve literally planned my sat night round a 9pm show that isn’t happening."

"They did 7 days a week in Australia, why less here?" wondered another.

ITV promised that Saturday nights during this 20th series would consist of weekly round-up episodes "showcasing the very best of the camp action from that week", instead of all-new content.

But it's not all repeated, these episodes will include "unseen footage" as well.
