Coronation Street has been cancelled tonight, leaving thousands of soap fans across the UK livid.
It's been an explosive week on the cobbles as the residents of Weatherfield are still reeling from the Christmas and New Year dramas - and viewers were expecting the chaos to continue tonight as usual.
However, avid Corrie fans have been left fuming after it has been confirmed that the ITV soap has been taken off air.
In it's usual place, ITV is now broadcasting the third round of the 2021/22 FA Cup match of Swindon Town v Man City.
The latest TV shake-up is the first of 2022 - but fans were left fuming last year when Coronation Street was suddenly cancelled and taken off air after Prince Philip passed away.
After fans discovered that they would be missing out on another exciting episode tonight, they flocked to Twitter to share their annoyance.
"Why is Corrie always the programme to be cancelled? Sport always seems to come before drama. So annoyed," one fan complained.
"Noooo! I was so looking forward to tonight's episode. RAGING," another echoed.
"This has pi**ed me right off. ITV needs to sort itself out," someone else fumed.
Meanwhile, a fourth quipped: "Strange to think my husband will be watching ITV at 7.30pm tonight. That's usually my time in front of the telly to watch Corrie."
Although some fans have been left disappointed by the news, they won't have to wait to too long for Corrie to make a return as it's back to it's usual scheduling from Monday.
ITV bosses have also ensured that viewers will be able to catch up on what's been missed, and the soap will air an hour-long episode on Tuesday evening.
Reacting to the news of the extra-long episode, one Corrie fan chimed: "I guess that makes up for it. I love an hour-long episode."
"We have an hour special to look forward to! Calm down everybody," another joked.
"I knew they wouldn't leave us hanging like that. Still sad that it's not on tonight though," someone else wrote.
Coronation Street continues on Monday at 7.0pm on ITV1 and ITV Hub.
