Why Holly Willoughby is not on This Morning as Rochelle Humes steps in

Those tuning into This Morning on Monday will expect to see Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby back presenting the show after taking their usual break over the Easter Holidays.

However, Holly confirmed ahead of Monday's instalment that she wouldn't be appearing alongside her co-star as usual, with Rochelle Humes "keeping her side of the sofa warm" instead.

Last week Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary presented the show, while Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford took on presenting duties the week before.

Those who were expecting Phil and Holly return to the studio for four fresh episodes will have to wait a little longer.

Where is Holly Willoughby on This Morning?

Explaining her absence, the 40-year-old told her 7.1 million Instagram followers that she was working on "something else" this week.

In a sweet post from the garden with her son and a notepad in hand, Holly wrote: "Vitamin d, caffeine and a side order of distraction from Chester.

"Working on something else next week which I can't wait to share with you all.... thank you to the lovely @rochellehumes for keeping my side of the sofa warm."

Rochelle reacted to the photo with the message: "Got you", along with a heart and kissing face emoji. She later shared pictures of the studio on social media as she returned.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
