Why Holly and Phil are not presenting This Morning this week

As England begins the October half term today (Monday, October 18), Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby are taking a break from presenting This Morning.

For the next week, Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary will be taking over presenting the popular ITV daytime programme. The pair usually present the Friday episode.

Holly and Phil do not present This Morning during the school holidays and in the summer Ruth Langsford and Eammon Holmes took the reins, presenting the programme for six weeks.

This Morning announced the news on its Instagram, posting pictures of Alison and Dermot with the caption: "A whole week of these two icons? Don't say we never treat you"

However, the news was not taken well by audiences of the show as the comments on the post are flooded with calls for Ruth and Eammon to be presenting instead.

One said: "Nooo. Eammon and Ruth please. I won't be watching" with a crying emoji.

Another said: "Oh that's disappointing, I thought we'd be getting Eammon and Ruth."

A third added: "No thank you, I prefer Eammon and Ruth."

And: "Won't be watching either!! Bring back Eammon and Ruth!"

This Morning is on every weekday from 10am on ITV.
