Why Have I Got News for You isn't on BBC One tonight

People hoping for their weekly hit of topical news satire will have to wait another seven days as Have I Got News For You is not on BBC One tonight (Friday, November 19).

The long-running quiz with team captains Ian Hislop and Paul Merton has been pulled from the schedules because of the BBC Children in Need appeal.

The annual fund-raiser is dominating BBC One and starts at 7pm, running until 10pm when the news is on.

An extra 30 minutes of Children in Need fun continues on BBC Two from 10pm with a special University Challenge episode featuring teams of stars from BBC and ITV going head to head.

The next episode of Have I Got News For You will be broadcast next Friday (November 26) and will be hosted by Jack Dee, with Baroness Sayeeda Warsi and comedian joining Private Eye editor Hislop and impro comedy star Merton.

Children In Need 2021 comes from Media City UK, in Salford. Mel Giedroyc and Graham Norton are returning as presenters as well as Ade Adepitan MBE, Chris Ramsey and Alex Scott MBE.
