Why has Denise Welch quit Loose Women? Here’s what we know

  • Denise Welch has announced her departure from Loose Women after nearly 25 years on the ITV daytime talk show.
  • The actor and presenter said on Instagram: “I have the most wonderful, wonderful memories, and it’s just that acting has always been my first love, and I think the thing I’m best at.”
  • She added: “I’ve shared my life with you, the good, the bad, and the ugly. I’m very Marmite, but I cherish all the comments, good or bad, that I’ve had over the years, and I just hope you wish me well.”
  • Welch, who previously left the show in 2013 before returning in 2018, is set to star in upcoming projects for Channel 4 and Channel 5.
  • Stars including Carol Vorderman and Kaye Adams have shared supportive tributes following her announcement.
