Why Harry Wilson was 'disappointed' despite full debut goal for Cardiff on loan from Liverpool

Cardiff City manager Neil Harris revealed Harry Wilson was disappointed with one aspect of his full debut since his loan move from Liverpool.

The 23-year-old impressed after making the starting lineup since securing the deadline day deal after a substitute appearance against Preston last time out.

Wilson scored the equaliser against the team he spent on loan last year, Bournemouth, who remain undefeated in the Championship.

The Bluebirds boss was full of praise for the Reds loanee after the final whistle, with fans also rushing to hail their latest acquisition and speculate over what he could help the team achieve come the end of the season.

However, Harris has said that the Welsh international was left a little disappointed at full-time as he would have hoped to have scored more against the Cherries.

Speaking after the match, he said: "He is disappointed he hasn't got the match ball. He showed his class and his quality again.

"We can talk about Harry Wilson's quality, his class, his shots, his link-up play, his free-kicks, but it's what he does without the ball as well, the distance he covers on the pitch.

"I thought he was excellent."

Wales Online report Wilson was a 'menace all evening for the Cherries, his former club, with his jinking runs, lovely passing, vision and eye for goal.'

He struck the crossbar with what is becoming one of his trademark free-kicks before finding himself on the end of a pinpoint cross from Junior Hoilett on the edge of the box and buried his effort into the bottom corner to level the match with half an hour to play.

Wilson remained key in his side's attempts to find a winner, playing the full 90 minutes but instead had to settle for a point.
