Why Ghana's AFCON exit has given Swansea City's transfer plans a big boost

Swansea City striker Jordan Ayew is likely to complete his move to Crystal Palace in the next few days.

The forward, who spent last season on loan at Selhurst Park, is due to complete a medical once he returns from international duty with Ghana.

A penalty shootout defeat at the hands of Tunisia in the last 16 saw the Black Stars crash out of the African Cup of Nations on Monday night, and their exit is expected to hasten Ayew's move to South London.

Ayew scored two goals in 25 appearances for the Eagles last season, and it's understood terms and a transfer fee of around £2.5m have already been agreed.

Meanwhile, Ayew's brother Andre remains up for sale this summer, having spent last season on loan at Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

Chairman Trevor Birch is still keen to get him off the books in this window as he looks to further free up funds, although as things stand, Andre is set to return to Landore for pre-season training later this summer.

The club also remain keen on selling Borja Baston and Jefferson Montero, although neither player has yet attracted any sort of concrete approach at this stage.
