Why Gerry Cinnamon Harry Styles and The Script all called Irish concerts to halt this week - from fireworks thrown on stage to fainting

Concerts are back in full swing for the summer months as fans travel to arena’s up and down the country to see some of their favourite acts.

However, last week saw plenty of drama unfold at various events in Dublin.

Gerry Cinnamon, Harry Styles and The Script were all forced to call a stop to their shows over safety concerns this week.

Here’s why:

Gerry Cinnamon

Gerry Cinnamon was forced to call a halt to his electric one man show at Malahide Castle last Sunday.

The Scottish singer called stopped mid-song after a member of the crowd threw a firework on stage.

Gerry appeared to be rather peeved with the culprit as he branded him a “c***” and asked other members of the crowd to point the perpetrator out so that security could escort him out of the arena.

Fans praised the singer who did not let the incident take away from the night.

After reiterating to the crowd that everyone must look after each other to have a fun and safe night Gerry got straight back into his song, dedicating it to all the fans who were behaving.

Later on he described what had happened to the crowd saying “some wee c*** had his pants filled with fireworks”.

Harry Styles

Pop sensation Harry Styles was praised by fans on Wednesday evening for his crowd safety awareness after a few small incidents at the Aviva Stadium.

The former One Directioner called a halt to the gig at two different stages to check on members of the crowd close to the stage.

And fans told the Irish Mirror that his attention to safety was "top class" and certainly didn't ruin the mood of a concert that could be heard right around Dublin.

The Script

The Script were forced to stop their concert mid-song and call in security after an altercation in the crowd on Thursday night.

Danny O'Donoghue and his bandmates were playing their third 3Arena show in consecutive days with free tickets for frontline workers from the HSE.

The singer praised the crowd and their energy throughout but midway through the set was left with no choice but to call in security and call a halt to the performance.

An unimpressed Danny said: "We're going to have to stop now and get security in, that's not what tonight's about."

After no more than three or four minutes the Dublin star was happy to get the concert back underway as two young men were escorted by security out of the 3Arena.

Fans commended the singer and it didn't take away from the gig which had the crowd dancing throughout.

Their tour honours everything that the trio - Danny, Glen Power and Mark Sheehan - have achieved together since 2007.
