Why Gareth Bale won't join Man Utd as Bayern Munich are tipped to sign Wales and Real Madrid star on loan

Bayern Munich have been linked with a loan swoop for Real Madrid and Wales star Gareth Bale.

A number of national media outlets have reported that the Bavarian giants are eager to take the 29-year-old to the Allianz Arena for the duration of the 2019/20 campaign.

Bale has fallen out of favour under Zinedine Zidane in the Spanish capital but still has three years left on his existing deal at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Welshman earns £350,000 per week in wages, a sum that will prove far too much for most clubs to match.

But it's been claimed that Bayern Munich are willing to pay the Cardiff-born star's wages for one season following the departures of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.

Manchester United are among those to have been linked with a move for Bale during the course of his struggles in Madrid.

But having targeted Bale in the past, it now appears the Red Devils will turn their attention to other targets.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men are eyeing up younger players that can be developed at Old Trafford rather than signing seasoned professionals.

Swansea City youngster Daniel James recently became the Norwegian manager's first signing in Manchester, with the 21-year-old joining for a fee of £15m plus add-ons.
